Kawhi Leonard Returns Home for Raptors Opener

Kawhi Leonard returns to the Raptors for their season opener. The forward was traded back to Toronto in September after a turbulent period away from the franchise. His first regular-season game back comes against the Bulls on October 21 at Scotiabank Arena.

Leonard led the Raptors to their only NBA title in 2019. That championship remains the benchmark for the organization. Several quiet seasons followed his departure to the Clippers.

The home opener has drawn heightened ticket interest. The team has promoted a special WE THE NORTH shirt for the occasion. Leonard’s presence has revived championship memories for fans.

Chicago enters the matchup as a team still rebuilding its roster. The Bulls face an early test on the road. Toronto sees the game as a chance to establish early momentum with its star back in the fold.

The larger franchise story centers on whether Leonard can help reset expectations. His return alone has shifted the conversation around the team. The opener serves as the first step in that process.
